Health and Safety

Our philosophy, People First, is an approach that gives everyone at FM Conway the support they need to protect themselves, their co-workers, and members of the public. At the end of the day, we want everyone to go home safe.

We provide our staff, both office based, and operationally, with the business tools and training they need to identify and mitigate risks and protect themselves, their colleagues, and the public from harm.

People First is Based on Five Key Steps:

1. Keep Talking: If you see something that isn’t safe, tell us about it
2. Team Up: Work together to keep you, your colleagues, and the public safe
3. Keep Healthy: Talk to us about your health and wellbeing
4. Plan It: Prevent risks getting to site
5. Question Your Work: Check if there is a safer way to operate

FM Conway’s Commitment to People First:

Supporting our Staff: We’ll always investigate incidents, react to comments, and listen and respond when you speak to us about health, safety, and wellbeing at work.

Continuously Investing in Health and Safety: Providing the right equipment, guidance, and procedures to keep people safe.

Keep Improving: Identifying where we can reduce risks whenever possible and setting limits to keep people safe.

Increasing Communication: Assisting in the removal of communication barriers across the business – providing the required support when needed.

Through People First we aim to create a culture where all workers look out for themselves and others, and where individuals “want to be safe rather than having to be safe”.

People First

With teams operating across technically demanding projects, often in heavy-traffic areas and near the public, making sure that health and safety is front of mind is vital.

We put People First to guarantee that everyone involved in our work – our employees, partners, and the public – go home healthy and safe at the end of the day. It isn’t simply a corporate target; it’s a commitment to protect the people who deliver our great work and the communities they serve.

TODAY’S NEAR MISS IS TOMORROW’S INJURY

Near Miss

Near miss reporting lets us identify and prevent potential accidents. Keep talking – if you see something that isn’t safe, tell us about it.
