Parliament Hill Athletics Track

A sprint finish for FM Conway's self-delivery model saw the refurbishment of The City of London's Parliament Hill Athletics Track.

FM Conway’s self-delivery capabilities were on full display as our teams carried out the refurbishment of The City of London Corporation’s Parliament Hill Athletics Track.

Delivering Innovation

This involved a full design and build project which was carried out by our Term Maintenance team, and supported by our Consultancy, Surfacing, Street Lighting, and Water & Drainage Management divisions, who worked together to give the track and surrounding area a much-needed facelift.

The track base was replaced and a new edging and running surface installed, with a new drainage system to ensure the facility retains its UK Athletic TrackMark accreditation. New LED energy efficient floodlighting was also installed to get the maximum benefit out of this great facility.

Outcomes

Following the completion of the works, the track was officially re-opened in April 2024 by the Lord Mayor of The City of London, Michael Mainelli. With the works completed, the first major event at the track was The Night of the 10,000m Personal Bests, an Olympic qualifying event held in May with athletes from across the world in attendance, aiming to secure their places for this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.
