The latest Street Soccer Foundation Academy at Crystal Palace recently completed week five of the programme, with a session focused on planning. Preparation is a key skill for the participants, not only in terms of completing the course and gaining their coaching qualification, but also for the future as they look to build meaningful careers. Many taking part are hoping to take their next steps into the world of football, so as part of the session they were given a tour around Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park stadium, while the #PalaceforLife team shared insights about the players and managers who helped shape the club, as well as the variety of jobs that support the industry. With the classroom session complete, they then put their learning into action by leading coaching sessions for the group, embedding the skills they are developing as they work through the course. We're incredibly proud to be supporting this cohort on their journey, investing in the communities where we live and work, and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and succeed with the help of the Street Soccer Foundation and Palace for Life Foundation. #StreetSoccerFoundation #ChangingLivesThroughFootball #SocialValue #GreatPeopleGreatWork #FMConway
Our Croydon asphalt plant underwent a significant transformation to upgrade critical equipment. The project involved 23 lifts — including a 200T crane — making it a complex and impressive operation, all managed by our in-house engineering team.
Our operational and commercial apprentices were tasked with presenting to their peers and senior managers and proved themselves to be a brilliant group with an exciting future ahead.
In February, the sun was shining on our teams as we welcomed some important guests to the St Paul's Gyratory transformation, which we're delivering for the City of London Corporation. Representatives from the Clean Air Fund Breathe Cities Initiative and C40, as well as international government delegates from as far afield as Colombia and Mexico, were given a tour of the site which showcases our future-shaping electric plant charging solution, developed in partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment and Charge Fairy. By using mobile charging, fully powered by renewable energy, we're reducing emissions across the works and showcasing what cleaner, quieter infrastructure projects can look like, even in the heart of the busy capital We'd like to thank Imperial College's Centre for Low Emission Construction for co-ordinating the visit, allowing esteemed guests from across the globe to share knowledge and innovation, as we face the climate challenge together #stpauls #imperialcollege #ChargeFairy #volvoconstructionequipment #greatpeoplegreatwork #fmconway
