FM Conway celebrates 60th anniversary as a business
Leading infrastructure services company FM Conway has celebrated a significant milestone as a business, reaching 60 years of operation.
60 years ago, FM Conway Ltd was born when founder Frank Conway, father of Michael Conway MBE, started a small family-run business on 25 October 1961.
The business has grown substantially since then, with FM Conway transforming into a leading infrastructure service group with nearly two thousand employees and working to deliver prestigious projects such as the highest level of recycled content (70%) ever used on the strategic road network.
Now operating as the FM Conway Group, the business is looking forward to building on the success of the past 60 years, as well as learning from the challenges of today.
The business has already outlined its commitments for the next 10 years by releasing its transformational health and safety strategy, The Big Ten in 10, and is now focusing on tackling the climate change agenda.
Adam Green, FM Conway CEO, commented on reaching 60 years as a business:
“We are a proud family business and we know that it is our people that are the beating heart of our business. And our strapline, ‘great people : great work’, still epitomises who we are today. We are a business steeped in recycling history, and with the launch of our Net Zero Strategy next week, we look forward to working with our clients and partners on the decarbonisation journey.
“Our 10-year business strategy, based on our 3 pillars of ‘self-delivery’, ‘carbon and environment’ and ‘technology’, sets out our roadmap until 2030. And it is through these three pillars that we will drive greater efficiency and innovation for both FM Conway and our clients.”
