FM Conway expands materials offer to the residential sector
Leading infrastructure services company FM Conway is expanding its materials portfolio to include state-of-the-art flooring screeds to service growing demand from the residential sector across London and the South East.
The company has formed a partnership with screeds expert Gypsol, a subsidiary of Francis Flower, for the ongoing supply of anhydrite screed binders, which will be used to manufacture FM Conway’s new flowing screed product – Metroflow.
Flowing screeds are becoming increasingly popular with the residential sector due to the significant labour and time-cost savings they offer. Thanks to its self-levelling and self-compacting properties, FM Conway’s Metroflow can be laid over ten times faster than traditional sand and cement-based products. Capable of receiving foot traffic within 48 hours, it allows other trades to access floors quickly and its reduced thicknesses make it an ideal complement for underfloor heating systems.
The company’s screed product has been specially developed to promote resource efficiency and help customers to reduce the carbon footprint of projects. By reusing anhydrite – a by-product of the chemical manufacturing industry – and diverting this waste away from landfill, the material has nearly ten times less embodied carbon than sand and cement-based alternative products.
