Our teams are hard at work in the City of London, transforming the St Paul's gyratory into a new public space with safer walking and cycling routes for locals and visitors to enjoy. With the area so deeply steeped in history, it's fitting that the works are being carried out with an eye on the future, as several pieces of electric-powered plant equipment are being used, minimising the environmental impact of these key works. Two electric excavators, one electric dumper, and a powerful battery pack are all operating on site, recharged by our mobile charging solution partner using 100% renewable energy. This project demonstrates how manufacturers are working together to scale up the use of zero-emission plant on construction sites. The electric plant not only reduces emissions when compared with traditional equipment, improving air quality, but also operates virtually silently, meaning the works are less intrusive on the businesses and people nearby. We're proud to work with the City of London Corporation to deliver transformational projects like this one, while supporting the City's Climate Action Strategy and our shared sustainability goals. A big thank you to the City of London, and our supply chain partners Greenshields JCB Limited, Volvo Construction Equipment, SMT GB, and Charge Fairy, for making sure we can collaboratively deliver great works. #GreatPeopleGreatWork #FMConway #Sustainability #ElectricPlantEquipment #Planet #ZeroEmission
A Hit at Highways UK 2025! Last week we were thrilled to once again be at Highways UK 2025 exhibiting and showcasing the very best of FM Conway This year’s theme — Innovation | Sustainability | Collaboration — perfectly aligned with how we deliver exceptional value to our customers and clients. It was a pleasure to connect in person at the event and discuss these shared priorities with both new and long-standing partners. As well as our team exhibiting at the event, our Managing Director Andrew Cox represented FM Conway in an engaging panel discussion led by National Highways, on the importance of embedding inclusive wellbeing practices throughout the sector, to help shape the future of our industry A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to speak with us — we’re excited about the future and the opportunities to continue collaborating across the industry. #HighwaysUK #HUK2025 #HighwaysUK2025 #ClientConference #NECBirmingham #GreatPeopleGreatWork #FMConway
We were in attendance for the grand opening of The Skills Centre’s Green Plant Academy, a new facility dedicated to training on zero-emission equipment. We’re thrilled to support this exciting new education site, which not only provides career development to help close the construction industry’s skills gap, but will also help build a more sustainable infrastructure sector. The day was a great success, with plenty of opportunities for attendees to trial the innovative methods that students will be using, including electric plant machinery and driving simulation technology. A huge congratulations to the Skills Centre on this latest milestone, and a big thank you to all of the organisations that came together to make it a reality. #SkillsCentre #CareerDevelopment #ZeroEmission #GreatPeopleGreatWork #FMConway
Our Surfacing team were back on-site last week to relay the bus stops along Marine Parade in Brighton, after recently resurfacing the main carriageway. The works were delivered to ensure the bus stops were enhanced to withstand heavier vehicles by increasing the durability 💪
